At Freckles children and families are at the heart of everything that we do.
We believe that children learn and develop in an early childhood environment where the teacher has a respectful image of children as being competent and capable young people. The teacher's role is a co-researcher and co-constructor in the learning process, which allows children to explore, question, reflect, problem solve, theorise and encourages self-expression.
Our aim is to build a passion for a lifetime of learning in every unique person. We believe teacher and child-initiated activities are equally important for a child's development. Our philosophy acknowledges the importance of play and that children will teach themselves and will drive their own learning given a rich, positive environment, supportive interactions with adults and the choice to plan and do things.
Relationships that are based on respect, honesty, trust and kindness are at the centre of our philosophy which underpins our everyday practice.
We strive to provide excellent care and education for young children and a supportive environment for parents and whānau.
